The highlight of the day was visiting the Rare Books, Preservation, & Conservation labs in Bird Library. While I loved the breadth of the examples we were shown and took rather plentiful notes, it would have been fantastic if Professor Lavender had laid out some of the larger examples on the viewing table so that we could see them a little closer. I was craning my neck to see many of the books and found this a little disappointing, considering what wonderful examples he’d chosen for us.
I’m happy with my poster group; although we’re not the fastest workers, I think it’s going to be a reasonably strong offering. The hardest part will probably be NOT arguing my own perspective.
